Although Rancho Santa covers a large area of land it is still considered a small community. Local courses and country clubs include The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, The Farms Golf Club, the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, Morgan Run Resort & Club, The Santaluz Club, Loma Santa Fe Country Club, Del Mar Country Club and the Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course.

Just minutes from the beach, this upscale area also has its own shopping and fine dining establishments. Inside the busiest section of Rancho Santa Fe is an area known as The Covenant. The Covenant is the largest and oldest neighborhood in Rancho Santa Fe. The Covenant was constructed in the 1920's as a master planned community. In the late 1980's Rancho Santa Fe was designated as a State Historical Landmark. Within the town center portion of The Covenant sits The Village of Rancho Santa Fe, which is the business and commercial center of the area. You will find multiple banks, jewelers, galleries, restaurants and boutique shops in this downtown portion of historic and unique Rancho Santa Fe.
